Ponte Infante Dom Henrique, also known as Ponte do Infante.
The bridge consists of a 4.5 m high box beam supported by a 1.50 m thick flexible arch. It is a high-elevation bridge with a length of 371 m and a width of 20 m on the deck. It presents an arch solution similar to that adopted by Swiss engineer Robert Maillart in his alpine bridges, with an arrow between the fasteners and the 25 m
arch start for an arch span of 280 m (span/arrow ratio of 11.2) , which, as has already been tradition for bridges between Porto and Gaia, constituted a world record for this type of bridge and served as a reference for countless bridges subsequently built.
